1. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Romania on March 30, President Park Geun-hye of the ROK exchanged celebratory letters with President Klaus Werner Iohannis of Romania.

2. In her letter, President Park noted with appreciation that since forging diplomatic relations, the two countries have promoted bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various sectors, including political affairs, economy and culture, and upgraded their bilateral ties to strategic partnership in 2008. She also expressed hope that the two will work more closely together by drawing upon their trust and friendship built over the past 25 years.

3. President Iohannis of Romania, calling the ROK one of Romania’s most important cooperation partners in Asia with which Romania is maintaining strategic partnership, conveyed hope to further consolidate their friendly and cooperative ties by fulfilling their potential for cooperation to the maximum extent and putting bilateral dialogue channels to active work.

4. The ROK and Romania are planning to hold a variety of meaningful events in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2015. The events are expected to help further step up cooperation between the two countries and enhance mutual understanding and exchanges between their peoples.
