1. The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the peaceful and orderly conduct of the parliamentary election in Myanmar on November 8, facilitated by the active participation of the people of the country and support from the international community. The ROK government notes that the election marks a historic milestone in the development of democracy in Myanmar.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea, in order to support the development of democracy in Myanmar through the parliamentary election, dispatched to the country a group of electoral observers, who successfully carried out their mission together with about 500 counterparts from the international community.

3. The Government of the Republic of Korea hopes that the Myanmarese government will continuously implement reforms and open-door policy and seek national development based on the outcome of the historic election. The ROK government will work closely with the Myanmarese government for advances in the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries.
