1. The Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will conduct an “Introduction to Korea for Foreign Diplomats” program at the KNDA on October 5 and 6. This program is designed to introduce various aspects of the Republic of Korea, including history, culture, economy and foreign policy, to foreign diplomats who have newly been assigned to the ROK.

2. The program has been implemented on an annual basis since 1999 to help foreign diplomats newly assigned to the ROK enhance their overall understanding of the country. Until 2015, a combined 820-odd foreign diplomats took part in 17 rounds of the program. In 2016, 64 diplomats from 42 countries will participate in the program.

3. Going forward, the KNDA plans to further develop the program in a bid to help foreign diplomats learn more about the ROK and contribute to efforts to promote the ROK’s friendship and cooperation with other countries.
