1. As part of efforts to further enhance cooperative ties with Africa that has grown closer to the Republic of Korea through the ROK President’s tour of the region in May 2016, the Foreign Ministry will hold a meeting with relevant experts from various sectors, including related government agencies, the National Assembly, businesses, academia and media, on October 6.
2. The fifth meeting on Africa will bring together about 40 Africa experts, including those from the “National Assembly Forum for Africa's New Era,” the “Friends of Africa” group, relevant government agencies, Korean media outlets, the Korea-Africa Center, Korean universities’ think tanks on Africa, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Korean NGOs and the Korea International Trade Association.
3. The forthcoming meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity for the experts to share with one another the progress and achievement in the ROK’s diplomacy toward Africa and to exchange views on the ROK-Africa Forum, which the ROK Foreign Ministry will co-host with the African Union in Ethiopia in December 2016.
