1. The Foreign Ministry will hold a “green roundtable” in Seoul on November 30 to seek ways to better implement the Paris Agreement on climate change and sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the environmental field.

2. The “green roundtable” carries great significance as the first of its kind to bring together officials from international organizations in the Republic of Korea as well as the country’s government agencies and other organizations related to green economy and environment for discussions on ways to effectively implement “the Paris Agreement on climate change,” which was brought into force on November 4, 2016, and “the SDGs” agreed upon by member states of the UN in 2015.

3. The event is expected to serve as an opportunity to seek ways to step up cooperation on green growth and environmental issues between “green” international organizations in the ROK, and government agencies and other relevant organizations of the country.

° Going forward, the Foreign Ministry will continuously seek to promote cooperation between the ROK and “green” international organizations in the country.
