1. At the 1345th meeting of the Council of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on February 23, the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador to the OECD Yoon Jong-won was elected as Chairman of the OECD Management Board of the Pension Budget and Reserve Fund (PBRF).

° The OECD Management Board of the Pension Budget and Reserve Fund makes decisions on and oversees the PBRF management; draws up long-term policies regarding the management and reports on them to the Council; and selects outside organizations and experts for the management.

2. Ambassador Yun, as Chairman of the Management Board from March, will focus on improving the profitability and stability of the PBRF assets.

° The Ambassador, -- currently a co-chair of the “consultation group on economic outlook for Southeast Asia” and leader of the “advisory group on Indonesia” -- by serving as Chairman of the OECD Management Board of the Pension Budget and Reserve Fund, is expected to help enhance the ROK’s standing in the OECD.
