Foreign Ministry to Hold 10th International Career Fair

1. In an effort to provide Koreans seeking to work for international organizations with up-to-date and useful information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited human resources officers at major international organizations to hold the “10th International Career Fair: Exploring Career Opportunities in the UN and Int'l Organizations” at Seoul City Hall and Busan City Hall on July 6-7.

2. The upcoming career fair will be attended by human resources officers at major international organizations, including the UN Secretariat, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO). The officers will explain their organizations’ recruitment and HR systems, major responsibilities, and how to prepare a UN resume, and have a question-and-answer session with participants.

3. Among those who applied for participation in the career fair, participants who applied for mock interviews and were selected through document screening will be provided with an opportunity to conduct mock interviews with the HR officers attending the career fair.

o Applications for career fair participation and mock interviews will be received from June 8 via the Foreign Ministry’s International Organizations Recruitment Center (www.UNrecruit.go.kr).

- Only 500 applications for career fair participation will be received for career fairs in Seoul and Busan, respectively, on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Applications for mock interviews will be received until June 23.

4. Human resources officers from the UNHCR who will attend the upcoming career fair will interview candidates for fourteen open positions. Those who want to conduct the job interview are required to submit their applications both on the websites of the Foreign Ministry’s International Organizations Recruitment Center (http://UNrecruit.mofa.go.kr) and the UNHCR (http://www.unhcr.org/talent-pools.html).
