1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Argentine Republic, will hold the “Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) TITM Seminar on Trade and Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)” at the Shilla Hotel, Seoul, on Wednesday, September 18, from 10:00 to 19:00.

○ Under the theme “FEALAC's Trade Facilitation in the Context of the Digital Economy,” the Seminar will be attended by about 100 experts in trade and SMEs from governments, academia and private organizations of the FEALAC member states.

2. Issues including “Enhancing Connectivity among FEALAC Member States through Digital Trade”; “Challenges and Opportunities of SMEs in FEALAC’s Digitalizing Economies”; and “Action Plans for Internationalizing SMEs in Digital Economies of FEALAC” will be discussed at the Seminar.

○ In addition, the Seminar will feature opening remarks by Director-General for Latin America and Caribbean Affairs Jo Yung-joon and congratulatory remarks by National Directorate for the Promotion of Trade and Investment Fernando Raul Lerena of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.

3. Ahead of the 9th FEALAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting (November 7-9, the Dominican Republic), the Seminar is particularly expected to serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on ways to cooperate in the areas of trade and SMEs among the member states.

4. The ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in line with the ROK’s diplomatic diversification, will continue its efforts to more actively contribute to facilitating cooperation among the FEALAC member states, the sole multilateral cooperation forum between East Asia and Latin America.
