Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Ghana

The National Institute for International Education(NIIED) under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea is inviting eligible applicants from Ghana, Togo and Benin for the 2023 GKS for graduate degrees in Korea for the period of 3 years(Master’s Degree) or 4 years(Doctoral Degree) including one year compulsory Korean language course respectively.

1. APPLICATION SUBMISSION

   - Applicants must submit all required documents to the Korean Embassy personally or by mail (DHL, EMS etc) to the address stated below by 4:00pm on Friday, 3rd March 2023. Kindly indicate ‘2023 Global Korea Scholarship’ on the envelope.

   - Applicants are kindly advised to thoroughly go through the ‘2023 GKS application guidelines’. Fraudulent, incomplete applications or failure to meet the qualifications set forth in the application guidelines will lead automatically to disqualification.

2. INTERVIEW 

   - ONLY short-listed applicants would be contacted by the Embassy for interviews on the 17th March 2023.

3. BENEFITS

   - Airfare, settlement allowance, monthly allowance, research support fee, Korean language training fee, tuition, medical insurance

      ※ The benefits can vary depending on the course and university.

4. OTHERS

   - GRADES

      o Applicants must submit a Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA) on one of the grading scales(4.0, 4.3, 4.5, 5.0 or 100-point scale). But if applicants convert the grade through a grade conversion tool such as ‘scholaro.com’ or ‘wes.org’, the applicant must provide an official confirmation issued by the relevant university.

   - CONSULAR CONFIRMATION

      o All required certificates(refer to ‘List of Documents to Submit’ section of Application Guidelines) must be consular confirmed. Kindly refer to the Embassy website for the consular confirmation procedure.

   - PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

      o ECOWAS Identity Card & passports are the only accepted ID cards for the proof of citizenship.
