Enforcement of mandatory submission of negative nucleic acid test(PCR) report for COVID-19 for all inbound foreign nationals

1. Mandatory submission of negative nucleic acid test(PCR) report for COVID-19 by airport arrivals

​

o Subject: All foreign nationals arriving in Korea by aircraft

​

o Effective date: 2021 January 8th 00:00 (based on domestic arrival time)

​

o Submit a negative nucleic acid test(PCR) report for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before the scheduled departure time (Required to present to the airline operator before boarding the flight, boarding is not permitted without the report)

※ △Original test report issued by a laboratory or healthcare institution in English or Korean or △ Original test report in local language except for English (must be translated in Korean or English and translation certificate must be submitted together)

※ There are no designated laboratories or healthcare institutions for the test.

o If a foreign national fails to present the required test report, he or she will be refused to get on board and refused entry.

2. Mandatory submission of negative nucleic acid test(PCR) report for COVID-19 by port sailors

o Subject: All foreign national sailors arriving in Korea by vessels

o Effective date: 2021 January 15th 00:00 (based on embarkation time)

o Submit a negative nucleic acid test(PCR) report for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours before the scheduled departure time

※ △Original test report issued by a laboratory or healthcare institution in English or Korean or △ Original test report in local language except for English (must be translated in Korean or English and translation certificate must be submitted together)

※ There are no designated laboratories or healthcare institutions for the test.

o If a foreign national fails to present the required test report, he or she will be refused to embark and refused entry.
