Working Holiday Programme(Updated: 20th May 2024)

◎︎ Holders of Working Holiday visa (H-1) may work for up to three months at any one place during their visit (300 hours maximum). 

◎︎ Applicants are not required to provide evidence of a job offer. 

◎︎ First entry to Korea must be made within 3 months of the visa being granted (in Israel).


◉︎ To be eligible for a Korean Working Holiday Visa, the applicant must:


  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) of age at the time of application

  • Not be accompanied by any dependents at any point in time during your stay in Korea

  • Be inside of your country when you apply and when your visa is granted

  • Hold a valid passport issued by the participating country or region that is valid for at least a year

  • Be going to Korea for the purpose of holiday (Those desiring to work or study for a longer period should consider different type of visa instead of the Working Holiday Visa)

  • Not previously taken part in Korean Working Holiday Program

  • Be able to produce financial proof of having sufficient amounts to support himself/herself for the initial stage of his /her holiday in Korea (KRW 3,000,000 minimum)

  • Hold a return ticket 

  • Have adequate health insurance for the duration of his/her stay in Korea

  • Submit travel plans

  • Must submit fees for visa along with your application form (may vary depending on nationality)

◉︎ Additional conditions

  • Not have a substantial criminal record

  • Meet the health criteria to travel and work in Korea

◉︎ The following documents must be provided:

  • Visa Application Form (attached)

  • Valid Passport (valid for at least 18 months from the visa’s date of issue)

  • One passport Photo (3.5x4.5cm, taken within the last 6 months)

  • Return ticket 

  • Supporting financial documentation (a minimum of $3000 in available funds to meet your living costs while in Korea, ex- certified copy of a bank statement)

  • Health insurance which remains valid throughout your stay in Korea (Coverage: KRW 40,000,000 minimum)

  • Travel Plans

  • Application Fees (the fee waiver for more than 91 days)

  • Criminal Record Check (issued in last 3 months, affixed with apostille from every country you have been in for 12 months or longer during the past five years)

  • Medical Certificate ( from a designated medical center showing that you have an acceptable standard of health—which is to say, you are not sick with infectious or chronic diseases (such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, syphilis, gonorrhea or HIV)  that can be a danger to public health or impose significant demands on Korea’s health services.)

  • Proof of student status or highest academic qualifications

◉︎ General Information

Make an appointment at least a day in advance for the visa interview by E-mail: israel@mofa.go.kr

 We do NOT accept any visa applications by E-mail.

  • - Please be informed that it takes about 7 working days to issue visa.

  • - As most visas have an entry validity period of 3 months from the issue date, please apply for visa no more than 2 months in advance from the planned date of entry into South Korea.

  • - The documents validity for visa application is 3 months only. We do not accept any documents which were issued more than 3 months before the date of your visa application has been accepted.

  • - We will be holding your passport during the visa process.

  • - The cancellation of visa will take 1 working day.

  • - We do NOT provide ANY TRACKING SERVICE(You can check your visa progress by online, please click the website https://visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10301&LANG_TYPE=EN), after you submit your application. It may cause delay on your application if you try to follow up your visa process.

  • - Please type or print clearly when you fill out the Visa application form AND DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN AT THE BOTTOM.

  • - Need at least 6 months validity on the passport to apply for a visa

  • - Please email your preference time to israel@mofa.go.kr for booking your visa interview before ahead of time. 

  • - Opening hours: 9-12 on Mondays - Thursdays

◉︎ Following Visa Issuance

  • Working Holiday Visa holders must register with a local immigration office or branch office within 90 days of arrival in Korea.
