Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of India

Ambassador Chang Jae-bok visited Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka and hosted the 'Korea On the Move 2022' event (Caravan).

'Korean On the Move' is a re-branding of the 'Caravan' event, on the occasion of 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2023 between Korea and India. It is an economic and cultural event which intends to promote Korea-India relationship by reaching out to each Indian state. The Korean delegation comprised of executives from Korean companies in India, public institution representatives, as well as the samulnori (traditional Korean percussion music) and takewondo team, K-Pop performers.

During the event period, Korea-Karnataka Economic Cooperation Forum, Korea Fair in Bengaluru 2022, cultural performances, forums with Korean companies and with local companies(including dinner with Honorary Consuls), meeting with the Chief Minister, etc. were held. 

The government of Karnataka expressed great interest in Korea while hundreds of people attended the opening ceremony of Korea Fair Bengaluru 2022, which was held at the Orion Mall. 

The Indian media also showed interest in the fact that the 'Korea On the Move' event was held for the first time in the silicon valley of India, Bengaluru. 

The Embassy will keep expanding Korea-India bilateral relationship in diverse ways, seeking out possible cooperation with other regions of India.
