The Korean Association in India launched its YouTube News Channel

  The Korean Association in India launched its YouTube News Channel 'Namaste India TV' on 15th August to disseminate news and current affairs in India among the Korean Community residing in India. The launch of the channel comes at a time when Covid-19 situation in the country worsening and the Korean community needs to have correct and updated information about the pandemic situation in the country.


  It is unusual for the Association of the Korean Community to start an online broadcasting channel in a country where the number of Korean residents is relatively small. The number of Korean residents in India is estimated to be around 11,000. Speaking about the launch, Park Eui-don, President of the Korean Association in India said, we started this online TV channel because we felt the urgent need to keep Korean community abreast with the latest developments taking place in India, including worrying situation of Covid-19 in the country. Welcoming the launch, Ambassador Shin Bongkil thanked the mumbers of the Korean Community who are dealing with every challenge posed by the pandemic with courage and patience.


  The channel started its first broadcast with streaming of a program titled 'Korean Liberation Day Celebrated by Koreans in India'. Namaste India TV will also provide various contents on Korea-related events including video clips of seminars and cultural events. "We will make our best efforts to give as much information as possible to our viewers", added Korean Association President Mr. Park. Namaste India TV also plans to utilize mobile studios to enhance its visual effects. The studio was used to shoot video clip of Ambassador Shin Bongkil congratulatory message on its first broadcast on 15th August.
