Due to the suspension of the Study in Korea online system, application submission through the system is currently unavailable. Accordingly, the application method and schedule have been revised as follows:

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Lao PDR is pleased to announce that the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship program(GKS-U) applications are now open.

Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea in pursuit of academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

□ Number of Student Quota of Embassy Track for the Lao PDR : 2 (General 1, R-GKS 1)

  * The quota for UIC and Associate Degree of University track is open to all countries around the world.

□ Eligibility and Required Documents : please refer to the attached files (2026 GKS-U Application Guideline)

□ Application

  o Application Period : October 6 (Mon) ~ October 17 (Fri) 17:00

       ※ Working Days only, All documents including the post should be arrived at the Embassy before deadline.

  o Documents to be submitted should follow the requirements of SECOND round of selection (NIIED)

    ※ Applicants who have already submitted their applications online are also required to resubmit their complete application documents to the Embassy by the deadline.
