ㅇ South Korea marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties with Laos by highlighting its extensive health-related Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects. A media trip on August 14 brought together Korean agencies such as KOICA, EDCF, KOFIH, and KDCA, along with the Lao Ministry of Health, showcasing the collaborative progress achieved in healthcare infrastructure and services.

ㅇ Key initiatives include the Children’s Hospital, the upcoming University of Health Sciences Hospital, and the Medical Product Supply Centre, which improve healthcare access, capacity building, and referral systems. Korea, the largest bilateral health donor to Laos, has also supported maternal and child health, blood donation systems, and nutrition projects, reaffirming its long-term commitment to strengthening Laos’ health sector and addressing future challenges.
