ㅇ The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has launched an US$8.8 million project to improve rehabilitation services in Laos, focusing on enhancing accessibility, specialist expertise, and outreach to underserved communities. The initiative, running from 2025 to 2029, will cover Vientiane and four northern provinces, aiming to improve quality of life for people with disabilities and the wider public.
ㅇ The project will upgrade the Centre for Medical Rehabilitation in Vientiane, establish a sub-centre in Oudomxay, and develop mobile and community-based services. Speaking at the launch, officials from both sides highlighted the project as a milestone in health sector cooperation and a tangible contribution to bilateral relations, with KOICA reaffirming its commitment to supporting Laos’s healthcare and social infrastructure development.
