ㅇThe opening and handover ceremony of the Lao Digital Park was held in Vientiane on Wednesday, marking a milestone in digital cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea. The event was led by Deputy Director General of the Department of Digital Technology, Mr. Pasitthideth Luangvilay, and Chairman of the Korea Technopark Association, Mr. Gyu Taek Lee, with the participation of Minister of Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr. Boviengkham Vongdara, and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Laos, Mr. Jung Yung Soo.

ㅇSupported by the government of the Republic of Korea, the Lao Digital Park is designed to serve as a digital centre and hub for industrial and commercial innovation. It will foster research and development, support the growth of digital entrepreneurs, and attract investment in the digital technology sector. The facility also aims to strengthen Laos’ competitiveness in the global market.

ㅇThe Lao Digital Park is a key component of the National Digital Economic Development Plan to 2025, Strategy to 2030, and Vision to 2040. Since its launch in 2022, training programs, seminars, study tours, and international exchange activities have been conducted to enhance the digital skills of government staff, business operators, and students, paving the way for sustainable growth in Laos’ digital economy.
