2025 K-POP World Festival in Sri Lanka

Then, this is your chance to make your dream come true!

The much awaited K-POP World Festival is finally back in Sri Lanka.

□ What is the K-POP World Festival?

“K-Pop World Festival” is an annual K-pop talent competition for those who are enthusiastic about K-Pop, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Republic of Korea and the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS).

After going through a preliminary round in each country, selected winners are invited to Korea to take part in the final round of the competition held every year in Changwon, Korea.

The preliminary round of Sri Lanka for the 2025 K-Pop World Festival will be held as mentioned below.

▪Venue : Main Hall, BMICH

▪Date : 12th July 2025 (Saturday)

▪Time : 5:30 PM (Tentative)

□ How to participate in the K-pop World Festival?

The K-pop festival is open to individual and group dance/vocal performances.

Applicants can select any song of their choice, and the performance duration should be around 3-4 minutes.

* Participants are encouraged to use the original version of the songs, but not remixed versions.

* The video should be taken clearly from the front side (Especially dance performance), and should not be edited with any unnecessary effects.

Upload your performance video to YouTube and Email the link of your performing K-Pop cover with application form in MS Word format

▪What : YouTube link and the application form (MS format)

* The Email Title and YouTube video title should be “K-pop World Festival 2025 – (Individual or Group Name)”

*Only one application form is sufficient for a group

Among all the applications, the Embassy will shortlist teams/soloists (Around 12) for the preliminary round that will be held on the 12th July.

The embassy will send the performances of the top 3 finalists to Korea after the preliminary round.

If Sri Lankan artists are selected for the finals, the selected participants will have an opportunity to perform their talent in 2025 K-Pop World Festival in Korea(Around October 2025) and the relevant expenses will be covered by Korean government.

* The applicants do not need to have a passport to apply for the preliminary round. * The more details on the final will be circulated later.

□ Important notice

By submitting their videos, all the applicants are considered to agree that their videos of performances can be uploaded on Korean Embassy SNS(Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, etc). 

Any individual/Group of Sri Lankan nationality is eligible to participate.
