IF A VISA APPLICANT CAUSES PHYSICAL HARM TO THE STAFF OR THE PROPERTY OF THE EMBASSY, MAKES VERBAL OR PHYSICAL THREATS, EXERT INAPPROPRIATE PRESSURE, OR PROVIDES ANY FRAUDULENT OR UNTRUTHFUL INFORMATION OR DOCUMENTS, HE/SHE MAY BE DENIED THE ISSUANCE OF VISA FOR A MAXIMUM 3 YEARS.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY A VISA AT THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA IN 

MALAYSIA?

1. Applicants with Visa Issuance Confirmation Number (VICN) (Click here)

2. Malaysian citizens & Malaysian permanent residents (MyPR Card holders)

3. Long-term pass holders with multiple entry visas in Malaysia, who fulfill ALL the conditions:

• a.Holding a pass issued for a stay of one-year or longer in Malaysia. 

    b.  For applicants from the countries listed in the table below:

• ✔︎You MUST provide evidence  of holding a long-term pass CONTINUOUSLY for the past two years, and your current pass must also be valid for at least 6 months. 

    c. For applicants holding student pass: 

You must be studying diploma or higher program at an accredited college/university, or studying at an accredited public/private school. (Those studying language, certificate, or foundation courses are not eligible.). Please be informed  that the requirements outlines in Section 3(b) remain applicable even though you are a student.

d. For applicants holding temporary employment pass as domestic helper/maid: 

You MUST BE accompanying an employer who requires special assistance (Please note that this visa will be issued under limited conditions only.) For more details, please email our Embassy before submitting your application.

[NOTE]:

• ■Eligible applicants are still subject to the eligibility requirement of each visa type, and must be physically present in Malaysia.
  

• ■WE DO NOT ACCEPT VISA APPLICATIONS FROM THOSE WHO ENTERED MALAYSIA WITH SHORT TERM VISIT PASS OR UNDER VISA FREE SCHEME (e.g: Tourist, short term business travellers and etc.).

• ■Those who do not meet the requirement need to apply a visa to Korea in their home country or their country of residence. (Click here to find the Korean Embassy or Consulate in other country.)

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR VISA APPLICATION

• (1)Application by mail or online is NOT possible.

• (2)Process take 7 working days NOT including the submission day. It may take longer during peak season. Urgent / express visa service is NOT available.

• (3)Submission by representative is allowed. Authorize letter is not required.

• (4)Make an online reservation under the name of person who will physically visit the Embassy (you or your representative). A walk-in applicant will not be entertained.

• (5)Earliest time to apply is 3 months before entry to Korea, as a visa will be valid for three months from date of issue.

• (6)Visa is subjected to approval. Confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings are not compulsory. DO NOT purchase any non-refundable tickets as the Embassy DOES NOT take any responsibility in case your application is delayed or denied.

• (7)Application must be made on individual basis. You must prepare the documents as per individual application.

• (8)Documents and fee submitted for visa application will not be returned, regardless of the outcome.

• (9)The Embassy has the right to request additional documents OR call an applicant for an interview if it is deemed necessary (case by case basis).

• (10)All documents submitted must be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Korean. Documents in other languages must be translated by a professional translator and notarized. Certificate issued by other countries must be translated into English and certified by either a relevant foreign mission in Malaysia, the Korean Embassy /Consulate General in the issuing country, or with an Apostille if the issuing country is a member of Apostille Convention. Documents may also be accepted if they have been endorsed by the Malaysian government.

STEP ON HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA

STEP 1

▶To fill up the e-Form via Korea Visa Portal to get the serial number. 

• ①Select Korean Embassy in Malaysia (for submission to Embassy in KL)

• ②Use the latest & same photo on the e-Form & the photo that you will use to submit to the counter. If you use different photos, your application may be rejected or delayed.
  

• ③DO NOT fill up the Visa Issuance Confirmation number part. Leave it empty. Incomplete or incorrect form may cause rejection or delay of your visa.(Visa Issuance Number is issued by the Ministry of Justice in Korea to those who are eligible.)
  

• ④Fill up all the information according to your best knowledge as the Embassy will not be able to assist you on how to fill up the form for each detail. You may refer to the attached manual.

▶[IMPORTANT:] After submission, (X) DO NOT close the window / Tab!  If you do, you will not be able to download and print the form.

▶[IMPORTANT:]

• i.Please make sure your serial number begin with MAxxONxxxxxx. 
  

• ii.Download your e-Form and print it out. Your form should consist of 6-7 pages. After printing out the form, please sign at No.12.If the information is not written on the form after you have printed it out, please fill it up manually using a black ball pen.

STEP 2

Make online reservation. You are required to refer to the attached ‘User guide for online reservation (VISA)’. All link can be obtained from the PDF.

STEP 3

Prepare all documents according to the Checklist. Click the visa category below according to your purpose of visit to Korea, and you will see the checklist.

STEP 4

Submit your application to the Visa Counter at Embassy & make payment (Cash / Card) in MYR.

STEP 5

Document will be reviewed by the Consul. Additional document or interview may be requested if it is deemed necessary when reviewing your application. Please check your email frequently.

STEP 6

On the informed date, please check your result at the Korea Visa Portal. Expected date of result will be informed on your visa receipt.

Guideline on how to download the Visa Grant notice will be given on your application day. Please keep it. You do not need to visit our Embassy to pick up your passport. Your passport will be returned after the verification on the same day of your visa application.

There is no more visa sticker in your passport.

WHAT IF MY VISA IS DENIED?

You may check the result and reason of rejection on the Korea Visa Portal website, and we do not provide further details. Documents and fee submitted for visa application will not be returned.

There is no appeal procedure at the Embassy. You only can re-apply after 3 months from the date of rejection
