Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of the Netherlands is pleased to announce the opening of the application for the 2025 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Graduate Degrees as below.
Please refer to the attached Guideline for more information.
1. Eligibility
- Applicants under 40 years (born after September 1st, 1985) holding Dutch Citizenship (Not eligible if the applicants or their parent hold Korean citizenship, including dual citizenship)
- Applicants must have obtained the required degree
2. Available Quota (Embassy Track) : 1 Person (General 1)
3. Scholarship Period
- Master’s Degree Program : 3 years (1 year of Korean language program + 2 years of degree program)
- Doctoral Degree Program : 4 years (1 year of Korean language program + 3 years of degree program)
- R&D Program : 6 months or 1 year
4. Application Timeline (Tentative)
- 5 March : Deadline for submission
- 11 March ~ 12 March : Notification of the Interview
* Interview date and details will be communicated personally by email
- 21 March : Announcement of the Successful Candidates (for 1st Round)
* Results will be communicated personally by email
- Early June : Announcement of the Final Successful Candidates
* The 2nd and 3rd rounds are conducted separately by NIIED and the universities to which the 2nd round successful candidates have applied, respectively, and are not related to the embassy. The results of the 2nd round will be announced in early May, and the results of the 3rd round in early June (subject to change) on studyinkorea.go.kr. (Individual notifications will not be provided.)
5. Submission of Applications

6. Important Notes
- Please read carefully the attached Guidelines.
- ONE set of original documents as well as THREE sets of their photocopies must be submitted in Hard Copy
- The Application form must be filled in either English or Korean with the applicant’s original hand-written signature
- All “Required certificates” must be apostilled and documents written in Dutch must be submitted together with a certified translation in English or Korean.
- Submitted documents MUST NOT be stapled but should be bound with paperclips.
- Applicants can only apply among the universities and departments listed in the “University Information” file.
- Applicants cannot choose more than one department from a single university.
- Of the chosen universities, at least one university must be from Type B universities.
- 1) Applications with false information or 2) Applications which do not comply with the attached Guidelines will be rejected.
- Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants under any circumstances.
