Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of the Netherlands

The Embassy of the Netherlands announces the following regarding the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Foreigners:

1. Eligibility

ㅇ The applicant’s parents (or legal guardians) must hold foreign nationality, and applicants with dual nationality including Korean, or whose parents hold Korean nationality, are not eligible.

ㅇ Must meet the appropriate academic background, grades, and other requirements for the respective program.

ㅇ For detailed eligibility criteria, please refer to the attached Guidelines.

2. Number of Candidates to be Selected: 4

3. Programs and Duration

ㅇ Master’s Program: 3 years (including 1-year Korean language training)

ㅇ Doctoral Program: 4 years (including 1-year Korean language training)

ㅇ R&D Program: 6 months or 1 year

4. Application Schedule: Online Application (Feb 12 (Thu) 11:00 – Feb 25 (Wed) 18:00, Korea (Seoul) Time)

ㅇ Apply online through the Study in Korea system (www.studyinkorea.go.kr)

ㅇ Please check the attached Guidelines for detailed application instructions and requirements.

ㅇ Applications and all documents must be submitted in English or Korean.

ㅇ All official documents must have an Apostille. Documents in languages other than English (e.g., Dutch) must be submitted with a notarized translation in English or Korean (see Guidelines for detailed submission requirements).

ㅇ Applicants may only apply to the universities and departments listed in the attached University Information.

ㅇ More than one department at a single university cannot be selected.

ㅇ At least one of the selected universities must be a Type B university.

ㅇ Applications containing false information or failing to comply with the Guidelines will be automatically disqualified.

ㅇ Documents submitted to the Embassy for the second round of screening cannot be returned.

5. Selection Schedule

ㅇ Interview Schedule Notification: March 6, 2026 (Fri)

ㅇ Detailed information regarding the interview will be individually notified to those who pass the document review

ㅇ Interview Period: March 9 – 13, 2026

- 1st Screening Results Announcement: March 16, 2026 (Mon)

- Submission of Documents for 2nd Screening by 1st Screening Passers: By March 23, 2026 (Mon) at the Embassy

- 2nd Screening Results by NIIED: Early May (announced on Study in Korea system)

- 3rd Screening Results by Universities: Early June (announced on Study in Korea system)

- Final Selection Announcement: Late June (announced on Study in Korea system)
