Overseas groups who perform gugak, or traditional Korean music, can apply to receive training in Korea.
□ Purpose
▶ To preserve and transmit Korea’s traditional arts worldwide and promote gugak by offering education and training support to gugak and dance groups consisting of overseas Koreans and internationals.
□ Summary
▶ Name of Program: 2025 Jindo National Gugak Center Invitation Program for Overseas Koreans and Gugak Groups
▶ Duration of Program: Approximately 10 invitational sessions are scheduled to be held from January to December 2025.
▶ Location: Jindo National Gugak Center and other locations around Korea.
▶ Session Length and Number of People: Approx. 2 weeks (10-20 people will be chosen for each invitation session).
▶ Eligible Applicants: Gugak groups and other groups recommended by domestic or international organizations (Airfare not included).
▶ Curriculum
- Practicum: Choose only 1 areas of interest, including instrument, vocal music, dance, and percussion instrument.
- Performance: Participants can perform what they have learned during training in the Center.
- Performance Viewing: View regular concerts and other performances by the Center.
- Gugak Lecture: Lectures on selected areas of interest and Gugak.
- Culture Tour: Visit tourist attractions and historic sites.
