On July 22, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal visited the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) in Singha Durbar and inspected the facility built through the Korean government’s ODA project. And also, the embassy and the National Information Technology Center (NITC) discussed the current status of the Information Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), established in 2021 as a follow-up support project from the Korean government, and its future operation plans.
In 2009, the Korean government, through KOICA, supported the establishment of an e-government system in Nepal by establishing the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC). In addition, the Korean government supported the establishment of the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Hetauda in 2021. With the establishment of the DRC, the loss of public data and the disruption of Nepalese government operation in the event of a natural disaster such as an earthquake will be minimized and the public data of the Nepalese government will be managed in an integrated manner.
