Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal

On October 10th, Ambassador Park Tae-young visited the Korea Programme on International Agriculture (KOPIA) Nepal Office, which officially opened on May 29, 2025. During the visit, he received a briefing from Director Jung Mi-hye on potato variety development, virus eradication research, collaboration with the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, as well as staffing and facility installation updates.

Ambassador Park also toured the potato demonstration field and greenhouses, and discussed plans to expand the distribution of seed potatoes through exemplary farmers.

Furthermore, he explored ways to contribute to improving potato productivity and achieving self-sufficiency in Nepal, thereby enhancing Korea’s national image in the country.
