2024 Global Korea Scholarship Graduate Degrees

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of the Philippines is pleased to announce that the 2024 Global Korea Scholarship (Graduate Degrees, Embassy Track) is now open to application. Interested applicants are required to read and follow the following guideline and the attachments.

 

1. Number of expected grantees in the Republic of the Philippines  * subject to changes

  • Seventeen (17)

 

2. Schedule of Application and Selection Process  * subject to changes

  • Application Deadline: March 6, 2024 (Any late application will NOT be accepted)

  • Mode and dates of the interview will be communicated in due course. Only shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.


 

3. Place of Submission

  • c/o GKS In-charge, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 122 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Town Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City 1634.

 

4. Notice for Documents

  • Applicants must submit ONE (1) set of original application forms and THREE (3) sets of photocopied application forms.

  • -Applicants must submit a total of two envelopes only: one (1) envelope for the original documents and one (1) envelope for the three (3) photocopied sets.

  • Application documents must be submitted in the order of the checklist (‘Application Checklist’) on the first page of the application forms. Each required document must be numbered and labeled on the top right corner (ex. 9. Proof of Citizenship).

  • The recommendation letter must be sealed and signed by the recommender (only ONE recommendation letter is required).

  • All documents must be A4-sized (for documents in another size, refer to attachments)

  • Applicants must submit an official bachelor’s degree graduation certificate (or Diploma), and this document must indicate the date of graduation.

  • Applicants who are expected to graduate by July 31, 2024, can also apply with a certificate of expected graduation which clearly indicates the date of graduation. They will be required to submit their official graduation certificate (or Diploma) and final academic transcript to GKS Center, NIIED, by July 31st, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of acceptance.

  • All documents must be presented in their original forms and apostilled. For a certificate which is issued only once, we strongly recommend to get an apostille on a certified true copy of the certificate and keep the original certificate.

  • Personal statement and study plan should NOT exceed 1,000 words, respectively. Exceeding this limit may result in disadvantages in the selection process.

 

5. Modes of submission

  • Documents will be accepted through mail courier services (i.e. LBC, DHL, JRS, etc.)

  • For submission via same day courier (Grab / Lalamove / etc.), input the following:

  • -Recipient’s name: GKS In-charge

  • -Contact number: (02) 8856-9210

  • -FOR GRAB / LALAMOVE DELIVERY: let rider know that there is NO NEED TO CALL. The documents may be left with the embassy guards upon arrival.

  • You may drop off your own documents at the embassy gate in care of the guards. Applicants are NOT allowed to enter the embassy premises.

  • Label your applications with your names and "GKS Application" for the reference of the guards.

  • The embassy is not liable for any loss of documents caused by same-day delivery riders or mail couriers.

  • Applications sent through email or facsimile are NOT accepted.

 

6. Important reminders

  • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN THE ATTACHMENTS. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN ELIMINATION.

  • ALL DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO APPLICANTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
