Graduate School of Korean Studies at the Academy of Korean Studies (한국학중앙연구원 한국학 대학원, a public institution under the Ministry of Education) is recruiting applicants for the 2025 Fellowship for Next-Generation Korean Studies Scholars. O Fellowship Benefits

  (* Within the limit set in the 2025 fiscal guidance of the Ministry of Economy and Finance*, the support cannot exceed 2,060,000 KRW per person)

O Eligibility

  (* As of the beginning of the fellowship period (1 September 2025), applicants should meet all of the criteria below)

- An applicant should be either a foreign national or a Korean national who has completed education outside of Korea which is compatible with Korea’s elementary, middle, high school and college education. (‘Korean National’ should also complete every education outside of Korea.)

- Applicants are enrolled in a Master’s or a doctoral degree program at an overseas university or enrolled in a doctoral degree program and not yet in the ABD(All But Dissertation) status.

- An applicant's research topic should be related to Korea/Korean studies.

   ※ ABD(All But Dissertation) students in a doctoral degree program at an overseas university are NOT eligible for AKS Graduate Fellowship.

- Applicant with high Korean language skills will be given preference in this selection.
