The Korean Embassy in Singapore held the 2022 Singapore Best K-Content Awards Ceremony at the Embassy on Wednesday, October 19th. Since 2020, the Embassy has hosted the event annually to promote Korean culture through Singapore’s social media platforms and encourage the creators contributing to the development of Korea-Singapore relations.
This year, the general public was invited for the first time to participate in the nomination process, where we received over 40 nominated content. The Embassy also received additional nominations from local experts at the Korea Tourism Organization (Singapore) to identify high-quality content.
The recipient of the Best Content Award is Ms Jeanette Ong, who has been making content on Korean tourism and culture, for her youtube video titled ‘2022 Jeju Summer Vacation Hidden Spots for Travelling in Jeju’. As she was unable to take part in the ceremony due to being in Korea for her studies, she gave her award acceptance speech in the form of a pre-recorded video. The awards for outstanding content go to Ms Mongchin Yeoh and MiddleClass.
The four-member panel of judges for the Awards included Ms Ko Lee-kyong, Secretary General of the Korean Association in Singapore, Dr Cho Hi-chang, Associate Professor of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore and Ms Ji Kyeong-Hwa, Department Director of Global Business Division, Korea Creative Content Agency. They graded the nominated content based on an assessment criteria that reviews factors such as contribution to Korea-Singapore relations, quality and external influence.
The awardees were presented with trophies along with latest Korean electronic goods like Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
