Notice [IMPORTANT] Updated Pre-departure PCR test requirement for all international arrivals

Submission of negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result during entry into Korea

※Failure to submit negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result will result in denial of boarding at departure airport

Pre-departure PCR test to be taken within 2 days of departure
​For example, if the traveller is taking the flight on 21 January 2022 at 2300hrs, he/she may take the test on 19 January 2022 from 0000hrs onwards.

Who is exempted from submitting a negative result PCR certificate:


▷Infants and children under the age of 6 (as of entry date)


▷Airline crew (may be subjected to change in the future)


▷Individuals with quarantine exemption certificate issued for the purpose of attending funeral.


▷Individuals who departed Korea to another country but were denied entry or otherwise did not go through the entry procedure at that country before returning to Korea. The burden of proof lies with the travelling individual.


▷Korean crew men who signed off in Singapore and have "Seafarer's Book of Republic of Korea".


▷Korean nationals or spouse/lineal descendants of a Korean national departing from Ukraine.


Korean nationals who recovered from COVID-19 within 10 to 40 days of departure date. The burden of proof lies with the travelling individual. Documentary evidence such as recovery memo that states the date that you test positive for PCR (ART not admissible) or PCR test result showing positive COVID-19 infection between 10 to 40 days of departure date...etc must be submitted.

(Effective from 11 April 2022) Foreigners who hold long-term stay visas and who contracted COVID-19 in Korea may enter Korea within 10 to 40 days of the date when they tested positive and be exempted from this requirement. 

This only applies to those holding at least one of the following valid documents: residence card, overseas Korea resident card, permanent resident card or ID card of a diplomatic mission in Korea.

 Submission of negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours of boarding the vessel bound for Korea

Where to take the PCR test in Singapore

Things to take note of:

○ If the passenger received the test result by email, he/she is required to print it and present it to the airline personnel and quarantine authorities in hard copy.​

○ Passengers transiting in Korea without an entry (i.e no immigration clearance) are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.

○ Passengers who travel from Country A and transit in Country B before arriving in Korea are required to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued in:

    ▷Country A if they have transited in Country B without an entry (i.e no immigration clearance at Country B) OR

    ▷Country B if they have transited in Country B with an entry (i.e immigration clearance at Country B)
