NOTE: It has came to our attention recently that some employers, who wish to bring TWO (2) helpers to Korea on the same trip, have deliberately applied for visas for TWO (2) helpers on separate occassions to bypass the regulation. If you are found doing so, visa(s) issued to your helper(s) will be immediately cancelled and you may be banned from submitting any future visa application for your helper(s). |
Prerequisites for visa application | |
Minimum employment period | Domestic helper must be hired by the employer for at least 6 months during time of visa application. |
Employer must have humanitarian reason(s) for bringing the helper. | 1. The helper is travelling to Korea to assist with looking after young children aged 12 and below (as of calendar year). OR 2. The helper is travelling to Korea to assist with looking after the elderly above age 65 (as of calendar year) OR 3. The helper is travelling to Korea to assist person with special needs/medical condition. |

○ Processing time: 4 working days. No urgent / express service.
○ We do not provide status update on your application. The appointed visa agent will inform you of the collection date and you will know the result of your application on the scheduled collection date.

○ Visa will be valid for 3 months upon issuance. You will need to enter Korea within 3 months of receiving the visa.

Documents required from domestic helper |
1. Visa application form with one passport photo taken against white background ※ Fill in your name as per your passport ※ Please ensure all fields are completed to the best of your knowledge. Leaving blanks on the form will cause disadvantage. 2. Passport with at least 6 months remainder validity (original and CLEAR photocopy of bio-data page) ※ Passport will be kept at the Embassy during the processing of your application. 3. Work permit (CLEAR photocopy) ※ You are required to use "SGWORKPASS" app to obtain your pass information. A clear printout of the scan result and "My Employment Info" page obtained within recent 1 week must be submitted. Please refer to FAQ-SGWORKPASS (page 4-5) in the attachment for details. ※ Blurred photocopies may result in visa rejection. |
Documents required from the employer |
1. Choose one of the following: ⓐ If you are an employee: Letter issued by Singapore company to verify your employment status such as designation, salary, date of hire...etc, date and purpose of visit (original and issued within recent 1 month) ※ LOC (Letter of Consent) issued by MOM is required if you are LTVP / LTVP+ holder. ⓑ If you are self-employed: latest printout of ACRA biz profile ⓒ If you are unemployed: Spouse's company letter 2. Recent 3 months Singapore bank account statements / passbook (original and copy) / e-statements ※Credit/debit card statements will not be accepted. 3. CLEAR passport copy of ALL family members who will be travelling to Korea. ※ Blurred photocopies may result in visa rejection. 4. CLEAR photocopy of NRIC / EP / Spass / LTVP / DP of ALL family members who will be travelling to Korea. ※ Singaporeans may omit this. ※ For physical work passes issued with QR code, you are required to use "SGWORKPASS" app to obtain the latest pass information. A clear printout of the scan result obtained within recent 1 week must be submitted. ※ Digital Long-Term Passes with verifiable QR code can be downloaded from MyICA mobile app, ICA website or FileSG, using Singpass. ※ Blurred photocopies or omission of QR code may result in visa rejection. 5. Re-entry permit (applicable if the employer is PR) 6. Letter of guarantee for FDW 7. English marriage certificate (CLEAR photocopy) ※ Applicable if employer is married. ※ Blurred photocopies may result in visa rejection.
8. Choose one of the following: ⓐ Look after young child aged 12 and below (as of calendar year): Child's English birth certificate (CLEAR photocopy) ⓑ Look after elderly above age 65 (as of calendar year): Employer's English birth certificate (CLEAR photocopy) ⓒ Assist person with special needs or medical condition: Doctor's memo issued no more than 6 months at the time of visa application. It is recommended for the doctor to include information that will help us better understand the necessity of bringing helper to Korea. |
