Frequently Asked Questions

(More FAQs can be found here (click))

Q1: My exchange program will start on 01 Sep but I would like to enter Korea earlier on 26 Aug. Am I allowed to do so?

Ans: Your visa is valid for use once issued.

Q2: I have just received my D-2 visa. I will be travelling to Korea for holiday and will be returning to Singapore before going to Korea again for my exchange program. Will this have any implications on my D-2 visa?

Ans: Please note that your D-2 visa will be used upon your first entry into Korea and will be invalidated when you depart from Korea. Should you wish to go ahead with the above planned itinerary, you will need to apply for D-2 visa again for your exchange program.

Q3: My address and contact number in Korea are yet to be confirmed. What should I write on the visa application form?

Ans: For address in Korea, please write "undecided". For contact number in Korea, please write your Singapore number.

Q4: My program duration is 6 months but the validity period of my visa is 3 months. Does it meant that I can only stay in Korea for 3 months?

Ans: Validity of visa and duration of stay allowed are different entities. Visa is valid for 3 months once issued. This means that you will need to enter Korea within 3 months or else the visa will lapsed. On the other hand, the period of sojourn listed on the visa is the duration of stay allowed and it will start to count from the date of entry.
