"Today [on May 15], Frankfurt prosecutors closed proceedings against me and my son," he said on the Inter television channel late on Friday.
Lutsenko said that he had received a letter from a lawyer informing him about the closure of any proceedings against him and his son.
He said that the incident at the airport had harmed the Ukrainian government's reputation.
"I know that I am guilty as I couldn't restrain my emotions... I realize that I did serious damage to the government's reputation," Lutsenko said.
