Audrey Azoulay will highlight UNESCO’s leadership in promoting inclusive and quality education when she attends her first UN General Assembly in New York as Director General, from 23 to 26 September.
UNESCO has organized two major events:
Tuesday 25 September at 4.00pm – United Nations Headquarters – Room 1
Wednesday 26 September at 5.00pm – United Nations Headquarters – Room 2
In addition, the Director-General will represent the United Nations Secretary-General at the High-Level Global Business Coalition for Education Breakfast in the presence of representatives of civil society, private sector leaders, and governmental and non-governmental actors.
In the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, the Director-General will take the opportunity to have several of bilateral meetings with Heads of State and Government and Ministers.
Finally, in line with UNESCO’s open policy to civil society, the Director-General will participate in several events outside the United Nations. These include the opening of an event co-organized by BnF (National French Library) and the New York Public Library on the importance of protecting and enhancing documentary heritage in the presence of representatives from academic institutions, such as Columbia and Harvard. She will then attend the Global Business Forum.
