This program is ONLY applicable if a foreigner travels through the Republic of Korea from their country of origin to the final destination or another country.


The visa-free transit program cannot be guaranteed, as all decisions are made solely by the Korean Immigration Office, not the Consulate.

1. Eligibility

  • Nationals of all countries except the 24 excluded countries:

Syria, Sudan, Iran, Macedonia, Cuba, Kosovo, Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Ghana, Yemen, Gambia, Senegal, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Somalia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Cameroon, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Egypt.



2. Applicability


Category

Eligibility Criteria

Travelers with a visa to the 

4 advanced countries 

(U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand)

  • Transit through Korea on the way to any of these four countries.

  • Depart from one of these countries and transit through Korea to return home or go to a third country.

Travelers with a visa for any of 

30 European countries

  • Travel through South Korea to one of the 30 European countries.

  • Depart from one of these countries and transit through Korea to return home or go to a third country.

Travelers with a departure ticket 

within 30 days

  • Must have a confirmed departure ticket to one of the above countries within 30 days from South Korea.

  • No illegal alien record or non-endorsable offenses.

Entry History

  • Must not have been denied entry into Korea within the past 3 years.

Fine or Deportation History

  • Must not have been fined more than 5 million KRW, forcibly evicted, or received a deportation order due to legal violations.

Transit or Stopover

  • Must stay in Korea for no more than 3 days during transit or stopover.

For e-Visa Holders

  • Visa must be attached to the passport for travelers from the U.S., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

  • No visa label: Entry is allowed only when traveling from the above countries through Korea.




3. Requirements

  • Confirmed onward flight ticket for departure within 30 days of entering Korea.

  • No criminal offense records in the countries listed above.



4. Immigration Type and Duration of Stay

  • Tourist/Transit(B2), Max 30 days.
