1. Program Objectives
Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea at graduate-level degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
2. Total Number of Grantees in the USA: 19 candidates, 4 candidates for R-GKS
3. Available Universities: 74 universities in Korea designated by NIIED
4. Available Degree Program: Doctoral Degree, Master's Degree, Research Program
5. Eligibility
o Nationality: Applicants and their parents must not hold Korean Citizenship.
o Age: Applicants must be under 40 years of age (born after September 1, 1985).
o Degree Requirements: All applicants must have obtained the required degree or must be expected to graduate by July 31, 2025
o Grades: An applicant must maintain the overall grade point of average(CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the following;
[2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, 3.23 on a 5.0 scale ]
-Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one's class
o Health: An applicant must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.

** All certificates can be submitted without an Apostille, regardless of the GKS-G guidelines. However, applicants who are selected for an interview are required to submit an Apostille, so please prepare in advance
*** Applicants must submit 1 set of original application documents and 3 sets of photocopies, identical to the original set if you submit them in the mail.

**** Additional Points
- Applicants who hold a TOPIK, TOPIK IBT level 3 or above will be given additional points (10% of the total allocated points)
- Direct descendants of Korean War veterans who participated in the Korean War as a foreign military will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
- Applicants to science and engineering departments will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
7. Timeline of Application Procedure
o Application Deadline (IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MI, MN, MI, NE, ND, SD, OH, WI): February 28th, 2025 (Friday) *All the required documents MUST arrive by the deadline.
