On June 26, eleven Korean-American high school graduates were invited to the Korean Embassy who were awarded with the US Presidential Scholars. Ten of the students (one was absent) attended the ceremony during which they were awarded the Korean Honor Scholarship and received warm encouragement from their families.
Public Diplomacy Minister Cheon Joonho, on behalf of Ambassador Cho, congratulated the students for winning the highly prestigious US Presidential Scholars out of the 3.5 million high school graduates. He said that it made him very proud to have the most number of Korean-American graduates awarded this year. While presenting the scholarship to the students, Minister Cheon also encouraged the awardees to become great leaders in the future and to remain proud of their Korean-American heritage.
