[Important] A negative COVID-19 test (PCR) result is required for all ROK nationals entering the ROK(beginning Feb 24)
□ Due to the worldwide spread of a new highly transmissible COVID-19 variant, all South Korean nationals entering the Republic of Korea will now be required to provide a proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR).
□ Effective 12:00am, on February 24, 2021(KST), all South Korean nationals arriving the ROK via airports are required to provide a negative PCR test result issued within 72 hours of the departure date*.
ㅇ The ROK nationals who enter the ROK with a quarantine exemption certificate issued for humanitarian reasons or official business trip are exempt from this new requirement.
* In the case of the ROK nationals who enter South Korea via seaports, those who board a ship on or after February 24 will be bound by this restriction.
□ The ROK nationals arriving from the United States must get an additional PCR test at local public health centers within 24 hours of their arrival in South Korea (same as before).
* The ROK nationals arriving from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, and African countries are required to get an additional PCR test at a quarantine facility, and if they test negative they are then subject to self-quarantine.
□ If an applicable ROK national does not submit the PCR test result with a negative confirmation, he/she will be placed under facility quarantine for 14 days at his/her own expense.
