Digital Nomad (Workcation) Visa

1. Visa Application

• At the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Washington, D.C. (or consulate in your jurisdiction)

• Local immigration office(if you’re in Korea)

2. Eligible Applicants for Visa

• (Eligibiity) Overseas business owners or foreigners affiliated with intemational companies who can work remotely and have worked in the same industry for at least one year, and their accompanying family members(spouse and minor dependent)

• (Age) At least 18 years old (except for your minor dependent)

3. Income Requirements

• Those with more than twice the GNI per capita of the previous year as announced by the Bank of Korea

4. Medical Insurance

• It is mandatory to have individual medical insurance with

coverage of at least KRW 100 milion for medical treatment and repatriation to home country during stay

5. Documents to Submit

• Visa application form (Form No. 17), passport, 1 standard size photo, fee

• Proof of employment, Proof of Income(paystub, bank statements with transaction history, etc.)

• Criminal record, medical insurance certificate, proof of family relation such as marriage certificate/birth certificate if accompanied by spouse or dependent

※ An Apostille from the issued government is required for all official documents

6. Staying in Korea

• (Duration of stay) One year is granted from the date of entry when registering as a foreigner and extendable for one additional year (maximum 2 years)

• (Employment Activities) Employment/profit-making activities in Korea are prohibited

• (Change of Status) Short-term tourist visa(B-1, B-2, C-3) holders are allowed to change to Digital Nomad visa if requirements are met
