Information about K-ETA (from January 9, 2023)

DATE
2025-01-16

With the implementation of K-ETA, nationals of 112 countries/regions eligible for visa-free entry need K-ETA approval in advance to board a flight or ship bound for the Republic of Korea.

K-ETA approval is generally valid for two years within the passport expiration date, unless the personal information, such as name, nationality or passport number, changes.

You can use your approved K-ETA for multiple times within the validity period as long as you do not exceed your allowed period of stay*.

*The allowed period of stay varies depending on your nationality.

K-ETA is NOT a visa. K-ETA approval does not guarantee admission to the Republic of Korea; a Korea Immigration Service officer at the port of entry will have the final determination.

The information entered cannot be modified once the application is submitted. Therefore, you need to re-apply for K-ETA with correct information. In addition, if the information on the approved K-ETA does not match your passport, boarding the flight or ship to Korea will be denied. Please make sure all information is filled in correctly before making payment.

From January 9, 2023, Diplomatic and Official passport holders are exempted from K-ETA.
