■ F-1-D For Workation(Digital Nomad)
o Who : foreigners who want to work remotely in Korea and their family(spouse, children)
o How Long : 1 year(1 year extension possible in Korea)
o Eligibility
- Work for a company abroad
- Earn double Korea’s gross national income(GNI) per capita for the previous year(85 million won(about $66,000) in 2023)
- Be 18 or older and have worked for at least a year in the same industry.
o Requirements
- Visa application form
- Passport
- One passport photo(taken within the last 6 months)
- Visa fee($45 for US citizen)
- Proof of employment(requires proof of employment in the same industry for more than one year)
- Pay slip
- Bank statements(to prove income)
- Criminal history record check issued by FBI and apostille confirmation by US Department State office of Authentication(need to show BOD on Criminal history record check)
✱︎ If the applicant has lived in other than U.S.A. for more than one consecutive year within the last 5 years, applicant need to sumbit that country's background check with apostille
- Proof of medical insurance that covers at least 100 million won for medical treatments and emergency repatriation, valid for one year
- Marriage certificate and Birth certificate for family members
- Additional documents may be requested
o Important information
- Short-term stay visa(B-1, B-2, C-3) holder can apply for the F-1-D(Workation) in Korea.
- While staying in Korea with a F-1-D visa, employment activities in the territory of the ROK are strictly restricted, and any violation of this shall result in punishments in accordance with the Immigration Act.
