- You may either submit your visa application in person or by mail

* If you were unable to make an appointment, please submit your visa application by mail.
▷ Processing Time: 3-4 weeks
* There is NO EXPEDITED process for applications
▷ We don't provide service to check your visa application status. However, you can check your status through our Korea Visa website. (☞ View instructions)
▷ Consular Jurisdiction of Seattle
Our jurisdiction is Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Applicants who do not live in these areas, please contact the appropriate Korean Consular Office in your respective area. (☞ Click for more information)
□ E2-1(Private Employment) Required Documents
1. Visa Application with Visa Issuance number (from Korean Immigration Service)
* Please write down your phone number and address to be used in Korea at the top of your application
* Please make sure you SIGN or it will be rejected
* Please all areas on all pages are fully and accurately completed or it will be rejected
2. Original Passport (must be valid more than 6 months) - in person
Notarized copy of passport (Biographic data and signature page) - by mail
* DO NOT SEND your original passport when you mail your visa application
3. One Photo
* A physical/printed 2x2 photo taken within the last 6 months, DO NOT PRINT AT HOME
4. Fee $45 (for US citizens, Non-US citizens fees vary ☞ View Fees by Country)
* Money Orders Only if you submit by mail (Payable to the Korean Consulate in Seattle)
5. Consul's Checklist (see attached file)
6. Copy of valid Driver License or ID as proof of residency
7. Parents' Certificate of Naturalization and applicant's birth certificate if a person whose parent(s) had a Korean Nationality and has acquired a US nationality
8. Basic Certificate (기본증명서) or Certificate of Family Registry (제적등본) AND US Certificate of Naturalization if a person who was Korean and has renounced Korean nationality (if applicable)

1. Printed 'e-form' (Visa Application) from KOREA VISA PORTAL

*Please ensure that you read and follow them carefully to avoid any delays or rejections:
- Print the e-form with barcode: Even if you applied for your visa online, you must print the e-form (with a barcode) that you filled out on the Visa Portal. This form must be sent or brought along with all the required documents to our consulate.
- Sign the application form: Ensure that you sign the form before submitting it. Your application will not be processed if the form is not signed.
- Complete all areas: Ensure that all areas on all pages of the application are fully and accurately completed. Incomplete forms will be rejected. (1.7 US SSN & 4.2 US address)
- Check the attached file: Please refer to the attached 'e-Form (Visa application) Sample' file for further instructions.

10. Parents' Certificate of Naturalization and applicant's birth certificate if a person whose parent(s) had a Korean Nationality and has acquired a US nationality (if applicable)
11. Basic Certificate (기본증명서) or Certificate of Family Registry (제적등본) AND US Certificate of Naturalization if a person who was Korean and has renounced Korean nationality (if applicable)
