**Must read before applying for your visa***



 How to submit your visa application

- You may either submit your visa application in person or by mail

※ You must submit your application in-person and appointments are required to visit our office (☞ CLICK)

* If you were unable to make an appointment, please submit your visa application by mail.



 Processing Time:  3-4 weeks 

Due to an unexpected increase of applications, please apply for the visa with plenty of time in advance

We do not provide any expedited services. Thus, please plan accordingly for your travel plans and submit your visa application considering the aforementioned visa processing time

 We don't provide service to check your visa application status. However, you can check your status through our Korea Visa website. (☞ View instructions)


 Consular Jurisdiction of Seattle

Our jurisdiction is Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Applicants who do not live in these areas, please contact the appropriate Korean Consular Office in your respective area. (☞ Click for more information)



□ General Required Documents

       1. Printed 'e-form' (Visa Application) from KOREA VISA PORTAL

     https://www.visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10204 

*Please ensure that you read and follow them carefully to avoid any delays or rejections:

Print the e-form with barcode: Even if you applied for your visa online, you must print the e-form (with a barcode) that you filled out on the Visa Portal. This form must be sent or brought along with all the required documents to our consulate.

Sign the application form: Ensure that you sign the form before submitting it. Your application will not be processed if the form is not signed.

 - Complete all areas: Ensure that all areas on all pages of the application are fully and accurately completed. Incomplete forms will be rejected. (1.7 US SSN & 4.2 US address)

Check the attached file: Please refer to the attached 'e-Form (Visa application) Sample' file for further instructions. 

2. Original Passport (must be valid for more than 6 months) - in person

    Notarized copy of passport (Biographic data and signature page) - by mail

    * DO NOT SEND your original passport if you mail your visa application

3. Original valid US green card or valid US long-term visa (F1, I-20, H1B, I-797 etc.)

     Notarized copy of valid US green card or valid US long-term visa - by mail

     * DO NOT mail your original (physical) passport and green card (or visa)

4. One Photo 

   * A physical/printed 2x2 photo taken within the last 6 months, DO NOT PRINT AT HOME

5. Fee $45 (for US citizens, Non-US citizens fees vary  View Fees by Country)    

  Money Orders Only if you submit by mail (Payable to the Korean Consulate in Seattle)  

6. Copy of valid Driver License or ID as proof of residency

7. Parents' Certificate of Naturalization and applicant's birth certificate if a person whose parent(s) had a Korean Nationality and has acquired a US nationality (if applicable)

8. Basic Certificate (기본증명서) or Certificate of Family Registry (제적등본) AND US Certificate of Naturalization if a person who was Korean and has renounced Korean nationality (if applicable)

▷ D-2 Study Abroad

 Accredited Universities**   

- Certificate of Admission (표준입학허가서) 

  * Ensure that you sign before submitting it.

Certificate of Business Registration from Korean University (사업자등록증)

- Visa issuance number (from Korean Immigration Services, if provided)

    **Check School Eligibility  


  Not Accredited Universities**

- Standard Acceptance Letter (issued by the dean/president of the university)

Proof of enrollment from the visa applicant's current university/college in the U.S.  

           e.g.) Original hard copy of the official transcript issued within a month, Original enrollment

   verification certificate issued within a month

   ※ If  the visa applicant is not a university/college student at the time of visa application submission, the visa applicant must submit the original hard copy of his/her highest academic diploma

- Recommendation letter issued by the head of your university

- Original copy of documents proving your financial ability to support yourself (last 3 months bank account statements; when submitting a parents' bank statements, family relation certificate such as birth certificate is required to submit. *$5000 minimum)

- Documents proving that you are an exchange student (official documents of the host university, exchange student agreement between universities)




▷ D-4 Language Trainee Program

Accredited Universities**    

- Certificate of Admission (표준입학허가서)

* Ensure that you sign before submitting it.

Certificate of Business Registration from Korean University (사업자등록증)

- Visa issuance number (from Korean Immigration Services, if provided)

Not Accredited Universities**    

- Standard Acceptance Letter (issued by the dean/president of the university)

- Proof of enrollment from the visa applicant's current university/college in the U.S.  

           e.g.) Original hard copy of the official transcript issued within a month, Original enrollment

   verification certificate issued within a month

   ※ If  the visa applicant is not a university/college student at the time of visa application submission, the visa applicant must submit the original hard copy of his/her highest academic diploma

- Original copy of documents proving your financial ability to support yourself (last 3 months bank account statements; when submitting a parents' bank statements, family relation certificate such as birth certificate is required to submit. *$5000 minimum)

- Training plan (Lecture schedule, Lecturers' Profiles, Training Facility and etc.)
