 How to submit your visa application

- You may either submit your visa application in person or by mail


※ All consular visitors MUST make an appointment in advance (☞ CLICK)

* If you were unable to make an appointment, please submit your visa application by mail.


 Processing Time: 2 weeks 

Due to an unexpected increase of applications, please apply for the visa with plenty of time in advance

 We don't provide service to check your visa application status. However, you can check your status through our Korea Visa website(☞ View instructions)   


 Consular Jurisdiction of Seattle

Our jurisdiction is Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Applicants who do not live in these areas, please contact the appropriate Korean Consular Office in your respective area. (☞ Click for more information)


















□ You are eligible to apply for an A-3 International Agreement visa if you are a person or an immediate family member in accordance with SOFA Agreement (A-3-3)and Fulbright Agreement(A-3-99).

 A multiple-entry visa will be issued to an eligible applicant for an A-3 visa.


 A3-2 SOFA Agreement Required documents


1. Printed 'e-form' (Visa Application) from KOREA VISA PORTAL

     https://www.visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10204 

    *Please ensure that you read and follow them carefully to avoid any delays or rejections:

 - Print the e-form with barcode: Even if you applied for your visa online, you must print the e-form (with a barcode) that you filled out on the Visa Portal. This form must be sent or brought along with all the required documents to our consulate.

Sign the application form: Ensure that you sign the form before submitting it. Your application will not be processed if the form is not signed.

 - Complete all areas: Ensure that all areas on all pages of the application are fully and accurately completed. Incomplete forms will be rejected.

Check the attached file: Please refer to the attached 'e-Form (Visa application) Sample' file for further instructions. 

2. Original Passport (must be valid more than 6 months) - in person

    Notarized copy of passport (Biographic data and signature page) - by mail

    * DO NOT send your original passport   

3One Photo 

   * A physical/printed 2x2 photo taken within the last 6 months, DO NOT PRINT AT HOME

4. No Fee

5. A document demonstrating your current employment status and overseas assignment, or an official letter written by the head of your organization requesting for cooperation (the letter shall indicate that you are on official mission) with start/end dates and dependents' name (It must include the commander's signature or an official seal.)

6. DOD/SOFA ID            

7. Dependents must also provide documents proving the family relations

Spouse: copy of marriage certificate

Children: copy of birth certificate

8. Non US citizens must also submit a notarized copy of valid US permanent resident card or valid long-term US visa

9. Copy of valid Driver License or ID as proof of residency

10. Parents' Certificate of Naturalization and applicant's birth certificate if a person whose parent(s) had a Korean Nationality and has acquired a US nationality

 A3-99 Fulbright Agreement Required documents

1. 'e-form' Visa Application form from KOREA VISA PORTAL

      https://www.visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10204  

    * Please see attached 'KOREA VISA PORTAL'   

    * Please make sure you SIGN or it will be rejected 

    * Please all areas on all pages are fully and accurately completed or it will be rejected

    * Even if you apply your visa through online, you MUST print the e-form (with a bar code) that you filled out on the Visa Portal and send or bring it along with all the required documents to the our Consulate

2. Original Passport (must be valid more than 6 months) - in person

    Notarized copy of passport (Biographic data and signature page) - by mail

    * DO NOT send your original passport         

3. One Photo 

   * A physical/printed 2x2 photo taken within the last 6 months, DO NOT PRINT AT HOME

4. No Fee

       5. Acceptance letter (authorization letter optional)       

6. Highlighted dossier (internal memo, applicant need not provide)

       7. Dependents must also provide documents proving the family relations
