Ambassador Kim Wan-joong attended the official unveiling ceremony of the Perth Korean War Memorial in Kings Park on 27 July, on the day of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice Agreement. He took this opportunity to honor and pay tribute to the Korean War veterans who fought to defend freedom that the people of the Republic of Korea enjoy today. The unveiling ceremony was attended by WA Premier Hon Roger Cook, Mr Han Ki-ho, chairman of the National Defence Committee at the National Assembly of Korea, Korean War veterans and their families, and representatives of the Korean community in WA. It was followed by a luncheon in honor of the Korean War veterans.
