All foreigners entering Korea must present negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result


Due to the worldwide spread of a new highly transmissible COVID-19 variant, all foreign visitors entering the Republic of Korea will now be required to provide a proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR). Those who do not fulfil this requirement will be denied entry.


1. All foreigners entering the Republic of Korea via airport


Effective from 08 January 2021(KST), all foreign nationals arriving in the ROK must have on hand a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours of their departureThis applies to all South Korean nationals arriving from Britain and South Africa as well.


A proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR) must be presented to the airline personnel when the foreign passenger boards an aircraft. Boarding will not be permitted for foreign passengers without a negative COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours. The test result should be submitted to the quarantine authorities upon their arrival in the ROK.


The test result issued from the testing organization agency at the country of departure must be original and in English (or Korean). If the result cannot be issued in English or Korean, supplemental translated certificates certifying the translation can be submitted along with the original PCR test result.(apostilled by Finland or Estonia Goverment)

It is not allowed to submit as printing E-mail or Online webpage. Only original certification from Hospital will be accepted.


 * The test result certificate should include information such as name of traveller (as per passport), passport number, name of test taken, test result, date of application (test date),  seal(stamp or sign) of the issuing authority...etc


2. All foreign crewmen entering the Republic of Korea via seaport


Effective from 15 January 2021(KST), all foreign crewmen on a ship heading toward the ROK must have on hand a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours of their departure for Korea at the time of boarding*.


* This restriction applies to all foreign crewmen who board a ship from 12:00 am, on 15 January 2021.


A proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR) must be submitted to the quarantine authorities upon arrival in the ROK. The test result must be issued within 72 hours of their departure. The test result issued from the testing organization agency at the country of departure must be original and in English (or Korean). If the result cannot be issued in English or Korean, supplemental translated certificates certifying the translation can be submitted along with the original PCR test result.(apostilled by Finland or Estonia Goverment) It is not allowed to submit as printing E-mail or Online webpage.
