The government of Korea, through its aid agency KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), has endeavored to support and assist developing countries around the world, including Pakistan. In Pakistan, KOICA activities have focused on the vocational skills development, education, health, water and sanitation related sectors.

As an extension of the GREP(Girl's Right to Education in Pakistan) intervention with Malala Fund, this project is to support the efforts of the Government of Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan in increasing access to education, retention and improving the quality of girls' education through capacity building and targeted interventions at both institutional and community levels.
KOICA cooperates with Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET) to improve people's quality of life through improving access to solar energy through construction of PV module testing laboratory in Islamabad, provision of testing equipment and support of capacity building program.
KOICA cooperates with MOCC to enhance WASH Cell's coordination capacity with provincial government to resolve water issues in Pakistan. This project aims to improve the capacity of the Government of Pakistan to achieve SDG 6 thorugh provision of water quality testing equipment and capacity building program for lab operators in PHE Department in Punjab and KP Province and sharing knowledge and experience of Korea.
Korean assistance to Pakistan is meant to support sustainable development, infrastructural reconstruction and regional stability by aiding economic and social uplift. EDCF(Economic Development Cooperation Fund) assistance helps Pakistan achieve its development goals in the fields of energy, transportation, communication, water resource development and infrastructure.
In April 24, 2019, Ambassador Kwak Sung-kyu and Secretary Economic Affairs Division Noor Ahmed signed a new EDCF framework arrangement on behalf of their respective governments. Under the signed framework arrangement covering the peroid 2018-2020, Korea will provide long-term concessional financing up to $500 million for the execution of development projects in various sectors.
