General Information

The following is the general information for U.S. citizen’s Korean Visa application.

A U.S. citizen with a valid passport can visit the Republic of Korea without visa for 90 days for the purpose of tourism or transient stop-over.

The Korean visa will take 3~5 days after the applicant submits all the required documents in person.

The visa processing fee for U.S. citizens is $45 in cash or money order (payable to the Consular Office of the Republic of Korea in Anchorage) only.

If an applicant is requesting a visa by mail, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for the passport to be returned. Processing by mail will take 1~2 weeks.

Please include a PREPAID airway bill from a mail delivery service of your choice (e.g. FEDEX, DHL, UPS)

Please write your return address clearly. The Consular Office is not responsible for lost mail.

Required Documents

  • Valid Passport
  • 1 Color Photo (2 x 2)
  • Completed Visa Application Form
  • Copy of travel itinerary including a return date (Booking confirmation will be accepted.)
  • Copy of the picture page of your passport
  • Address and contact information in Korea
  • Depending on the type of Visa, additional documents might be required for Visa status.

  • For all multiple-entry visa : $90

COVID19 related change (additional documents)

  • Health Condition Report Form: Doctor's letter concerning COVID19 related symptoms (written within 48 hours before submitting the application) or COVID19 negative test result issued within 48 hours before submitting the application => You don't need to submit this for a while, but you have to carry a negative test result of COVID that is issued 72 hours before boarding. (1/5/2021)
  • All visas will be issued only as single entry
  • It takes at least 14 days to process
