2024 Gyeongsangnam-do Homeland Cultural Experience Program

for Overseas Korean Youth

Gyeongsangnam-do is inviting overseas Korean youth to provide them with opportunities to experience and learn about Korean history and traditions with the aim of cultivating patriotic pride in them.

1. Overview

1) Period: July 22. 2024(Mon) ~ July 26. 2024(Fri), (5 days / 4 night)

2) Place: Gyeongsangnam-do Area  ※ Place of gathering/dispersion: Chanwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

3) Eligible applicants: Overseas Korean Youth born between 2006~2011

4) Number of participants: 15

   ※ Subject to change depending on the number and identification of applicants

5) Hosted by: Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government

6) Organized by: Gyeongsangnam-do Youth Support Foundation

7) Main schedule

  - Visit beautiful the historical sites and museums of Gyeongsangnam-do and experience traditional activites

  - Go sightseeing in Gyeongsangnam-do, view art and cultural performances, visit famous facilities

2. Eligibel Applicants

1) Overseas Koreans born between 2006~2011

2) Healthy enough to stay with others in a group for consecutive days

3) Participants from two previous years (2022 and 2023) are not eligible to apply

4) Only one member per household is allowed to participate

3. How to Apply

1) Application deadline: ~ May 31. 2024(Fri), 18:00 (UTC+09:00)

2) How to apply

  - Prepare documents to submit: Application Form [Attachment 2] (the signature of a guardian is necessary)

   ※ Mandatory to put in an emergency contact number (preferably a number in Korea)

   ※ Important notices will be delivered via email. Please enter an email address you frequently check.

3) Send the document[attachment 2] to: gsndyouth@naver.com (The Director of Gyeongsangnam-do Youth Support Foundation)

4) Notification of the results: the results will be posted on the Gyeongsangnam-do Youth Activities Promotion Center website (gnyouth.net) and via email.

4. Benefits

1) 50% Support for round-trip international airfare(economy class)

  - Tickets bought for other pruposes than participating in this program won't be paid by us. (The departure date of the ticket must be within 10 days prior to or later than the program period.)

  - A flight ticket departing from your region of residence will be provided. In case you need to leave from another region, the ticket shouldn't be more expensive than the one from your home.
