To celebrate 130 years of diplomatic relations between Austria and Korea and on the occasion of the Korean National Day
on October 3rd, a concert by the Korean National Symphony Orchestra took place on October 2nd in the Great Hall of the
Musikverein in Vienna.
1,900 people including senior officials, representatives of the Korean community in Austria and a wide audience attended
the performance, making this anniversary concert a great success.
The National Symphony Orchestra (Artistic Director Jeong Yong-yong) performed a program consisting of traditional Korean
songs and European classics. Soprano Im Seon-hye, tenor Kim Jae-hyung and bassist Jong-min Park performed as soloists.
After the performance, the embassy hosted a Korean National Day reception. A total of 450 people took part in this event,
including Member of Parliament Maria Großbauer (chairwoman of the Austro-Korean Friendship Association), other Austrian
government and business representatives, diplomats, Koreans and members of the Korean National Symphony Orchestra.
