General Visa Information

A visa can be applied for at the earliest three months before the desired date of entry.

Applications can be submitted either in person or via an agency.

The documents must be submitted in the original and in copies, but only copies will be retained.

All documents will only be accepted in German, English and/or Korean. If the documents are not in German, English and/or Korean, an official translation is required.
-
Visa processing requires generally 10 working days.
-
You do not need an appointment for a visa application.

Our office is open for correspondence at the following times: Monday to Friday from 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00.

Please note that an online application is not possible.

Documents submitted online will not be reviewed by us.

Payment : Cash when submitting the application

Payment by debit or credit card is not possible.

Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance: In certain cases, the inviting party (Korean company, language institute, university, etc.) must apply for a Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance in Korea. This application will be reviewed and decided by the Korean Ministry of Justice or the local Immigration Office. If the issuance of the visa is approved, the applicant will receive a visa number. With this number, a visa can be applied for in Austria.

Visas are generally required:

Austrian passport holders can visit the Republic of Korea without visa for 90 days for the purpose of tourism or visitation.

If you plan to stay in Korea more than 90 days, you must have a specific reason to stay in Korea and obtain a proper long-term visa

Visa for Former Koreans and Their Children (F-4)
Former Korean nationals and their children who now hold Austrian citizenship may stay in Korea for up to two years with this visa. The validity of the visa is five years.
