General Visa Information

 Application for Visa

 For those in possession of visa issuance confirmation

  • Austrian and Slovenian passport holders can visit the Republic of Korea without visa for 90 days for the purpose of tourism or visitation.

  • If you plan to stay in Korea more than 90 days, you must have a specific reason to stay in Korea and obtain a proper long-term visa.

  • *For additional visa information in English, please visit the Korea immigration Service website.

  • Slovenian and Kosovar nationals can apply for a visa either in person at our office during normal business hours or DHL . We do not assume any liability for late, lost or misdirected mail.

  • *Please send us an email before applying for the visa


  • You do not need an appointment for a visa application.

  • In case of group applications, one member of the group or agency organizing the travel must contact us in advance with the list of applicants in order to pick up the visas.

  • Visa processing requires generally 10 working days. However, group applications for more than 10 persons may require additional processing time.

  • A visa will become invalid if you do not enter Korea within three months of the date of issue.

  • Exchange rate for visa fee : 1 USD = 0.90 Euro (1.1.2024)

General Requirement

Regardless of your visa status, these items must be submitted to obtain a visa: (WE MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS, IF NECESSARY.)

  • Passport You must submit an original and a photocopy of a passport valid for 6 months beyond the intended stay with at least one visa page available for a stamp.

  • A passport photo Affix a recent photo with glue on the application

  • Size : 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm

  • Photos must have been taken within the past 6 months.

  • Printed photographs are not accepted

  • A bright background is preferred

  • Visa Application Fee Visa Fees may vary based on the country of citizenship and its agreements with the Republic of Korea.

  • If you are not an EU-citizen, also submit the following: original residency permit(valid for at least 6 months) and Meldezettel, also as a photocopy *If you apply by post, send only a photocopy of original residency permit.

Diplomacy (A-1)

  • Temporary duty order, statement of employment or official letter from the sending government to certify the applicant's status.

  • Certificate of Family Relationship for families of duty officer (Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate)

  • Visa fee is waived.

Foreign Government Official (A-2)

  • Temporary duty order, statement of employment or official letter from the sending government to certify the applicant's status.

  • Certificate of Family Relationship for families of duty officer (Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate)

  • Visa fee is waived.

International Agreement (A-3)

  • Temporary duty order, statement of employment or official letter from Foreign Minister to certify the applicant's status.

  • Visa Fee is waived for official passport holders.

Short-Term News Coverage (C-1)

  • Temporary duty order or statement of employment issued by the company employing the applicant or foreign correspondent certificate.

  • Press Card

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Short-Term General (C-3-1)

Not-for-profit attendance at various events or meetings (e.g. conferences, sporting, art/cultural events, competitions or auditions)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Invitation letter from the Korean company/organisation

  • A copy of business registration certificate

  • Employment letter

  • Sufficient financial means(salary slips and bank statements for last three month) in Austria/Slovenia/Kosovo

  • Proof of hotel reservation

  • Proof of return flight (upon collection of the visa)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Medical Tourist (C-3-3)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Invitation letter

  • Documents proving your medical issues such as a record of diagnosis or a doctor's note

  • Confirmed doctor's appointment at the Korean hospital

  • Certificate of Medical Travel Facilitator Registration (의료관광 유치기관 등록증)

  • Proof of work(certificate of employment)

  • Sufficient financial means(salary slips and bank statements for last three month) in Austria/Slovenia/Kosovo

  • Additional documents proving familiy relationship if the patient invites family members (one of the following: copy of family register, birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.)

  • Proof of hotel reservation

  • Proof of return flight (upon collection of the visa)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Tourist (C-3-9)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Proof of work(certificate of employment)

  • Sufficient financial means(salary slips and bank statements for last three month) in Austria/Slovenia/Kosovo

  • Proof of hotel reservation

  • Proof of return flight (upon collection of the visa)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Short-Term Employee Temporary Entertainment (C-4)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Performance Recommendation Letter from the Korea Media Rating Board

  • Advertisement/Fashion Model/Concert etc.

  • Certificate of employment or contract

  • a concert schedule

  • Business registration certificate from the Korean company

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Short-Term Employee (C-4)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Certificate of employment (e.g. contract or agreement)

  • an assignment letter from the company

  • a letter of invitation from the Korean company

  • Business registration certificate from the Korean company

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Students (D-2)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Signed copy of Certificate of admission

  • Business registration certificate from the Korean company

  • Sufficient financial means

  • Certificate of degree (School, University, etc.)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

*if your trip is not financed by yourself, send us an email before applying for a visa

General Trainee (D-4)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Certificate of admission (official letter from Korea)

  • Copy of the Korean University's business registration certificate

  • Sufficient financial means

  • Certificate of degree (School, University, etc.)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Long-Term News Coverage (D-5)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice in Korea or its number.

  • You may alternatively submit the following documents:

  • Employment letter indicating tenure in Korea

  • Document proving provision of all necessary funding of applicant's activities during tenure in Korea

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Religious Worker (D-6)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea or its number

  • You may alternatively submit the following documents.

  • Temporary mission order

  • Copy of a certificate of establishment of a religious organisation or social welfare organisation

  • Document proving relevant organisation's financial support for the applicant's expenses

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Intra-Company Transferee (D-7)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Certificate for Confirmation of Visa issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea.

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Investor/Enterprise (D-8)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Temporary duty order or statement of employment.

  • Certificate of the foreigner's investment report, including a copy of the register book or certificate of business registration

  • Certificate of registered investment company.

  • You may alternatively submit the following document:

  • Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

International Trade (D-9)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Number of Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea

  • You may alternatively submit the following documents:

  • Certificate of employment on the company's letterhead

  • Copy of shipbuilding contract or copy of technology-import contract

  • Copy of register book or certificate of business registration

  • Documents regarding import of business fund or business program

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Professor (E-1)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Number of Certificate for confirmation of visa issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

E-Visa is an electronic visa issued online by the Minister of Justice to foreign talent such as a professors, researchers, etc.

Foreign Language Instructor/Teaching Assistant (E-2)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Number of Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea (EPIK teacher: You may alternatively submit the notice of appointment and employment contract)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

If you leave Korea with the intention of returning before the expiration of your period of stay, you are required to obtain a re-entry permit from the Immigration Office in Korea before leaving.

Researcher (E-3)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Number of Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea

  • You may alternatively submit the following documents:

  • Certificate of academic degree (master's or doctoral degree)

  • Copy of the Austrian certificate of registration (Meldebestätigung) or Slovenian registration of residence (if you are not Austrian or Slovenian citizen)

  • Employment contract or a certificate of a pending contract

  • Copy of the Korea entity's business registration certificate or other verification document from the Korean entity

  • Employment contract or a certificate of a pending contract

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

Technical Instructor (E-4)

  • Copy of the approved technology-Import contract (or certificate of service transactions) or certificate of designated military defense industry

  • A letter of assent by the employer

  • Documents verifying the establishment of a public or private organization

Visiting & Joining Family (F-1)

  • Copy of the Austrian/Slovenian/Kosovar resident permit (Aufenthaltstitel and Meldezettel) (if you are not a Austrian, Slovenian or Kosovar citizen)

  • Documents proving relationship of family or relatives (marriage certificate, permanent census registration or birth certificate) from Korea.

  • Letter of personal reference notarized by the Notary Public in Korea (신원보증서)

Spouse of Korean National F-6 (replaces F-2)

Notice: This visa changed its name from F-2 to F-6 effective 15 Dec 2011. However, the required documents remain the same.

Eligible Applicants

  • Spouses of Korean nationals or spouses of permanent residents (F-5 visa holders)

Required Documents

  • Recent passport photo (3.5 x 4.5cm, colour photo)

  • Original and a photocopy of marriage certificate from Austria/Slovenia/Kosovo and Korea

  • Photocopy of spouse’s valid passport OR permanent resident card (or documents pertaining to legal status)

  • Certificate of Guarantor: notarized by the Public Notary in Korea or in Austria (this document MUST be original)

  • Bank statements showing that the applicant had a continuous balance of at least KRW 17.082.582 (Korean Won) for the past year (for 2 people)

  • Visa fee :  "Visa Fee"

* We can provide only a 90 Days, Single Entry Visa (the applicants must extend the visa in Korea)

Dependent Family (F-3)

  • Number of Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance issued by the Ministry of Justice of Korea

  • Documents that prove the family relationship (marriage certificate, copy of family register or birth certificate)

  • Certificate of Incumbency of Inviting Parties and a Certificate of Tax Payment
