Estonia is called the Pearl of the Baltic Sea. Tallinn’s Old Town is a charming medieval site and has been registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Estonia and Korea have something in common; overcoming invasions from neighboring countries over the long period of time and growing into digital powerhouses. Estonia is the country that created Skype, and 99% of government services are available online.
Through the e-Residency, you can use almost the same level of services as locals, such as opening a local bank account and establishing a company, without coming to Estonia.
Through this system, you can advance not only to Estonia but also to the entire European Union. About 2,000 Korean citizens have electronic permanent residency and around 200 legal entities have been set up under this system.
Estonia has the most unicorns per capita in Europe. This is why there is great potential for cooperation with Korea’s competitive startups.
Relations between our two countries are steadily developing. Cooperation is expected to further expand in areas such as IT, energy, e-government, cyber security and defense industry.
The Embassy of Estonia in Korea was opened in 2010, and the Embassy of Korea in Estonia was launched in 2024. My Embassy will be a helpful channel of communication for everyone who loves Korea and Estonia. We will also make efforts to ensure the safety and interests of Korean citizens living abroad. We would appreciate your suggestions and support. Thank you.
